Here's how you’ll stand out…

As our French Content Lead, you’ll develop and apply editorial standards and guidelines for all French-language content for our field team, ensuring a consistent and client-friendly tone and voice and that online documentation & training is written and translated in plain language. You’ll consult on translation for a wide variety of projects, translate content and coordinate with third party translators when necessary. This includes developing knowledge of our various authoring tools, content design & management, creating great documentation & training, editing, and overall content strategy.

Most importantly, you are GREAT writer and translator and can exercise those skills under tight deadlines. A total word nerd, you know how to bring training, documentation and communications to life for our French-speaking teammates.

  • You’ll play a key role in the development of our content strategy and will support that strategy for all French content going forward.
  • You’ll work with your team and other partners to keep French content accurate and up-to-date.
  • You’ll be the ambassador of French content, waving the translation flag wherever you go and helping educate stakeholders on the why and how behind great translation and French content.
  • You’ll demonstrate an insatiable need to understand our audience and support the French editorial and translation component of usability research and testing.
  • You’ll collaborate with all head office support teams and other SMEs to ensure flawless execution of French training and documentation.
  • You’ll work closely with the Knowledge Management team and other stakeholders to help determine the right translation plan for all initiatives.
  • You’ll become an expert in our authoring tools, using them to create and publish final French versions of all content.
  • You’ll use our platform to help build the best possible user experience, helping our users access the information they need, when they need it.
  • You’ll support translation and French content quality for all content created by the knowledge management team, being sure to deliver as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • You’ll share expertise, knowledge and information about translation and French content design with teammates and some stakeholders.
  • You’ll manage French terminology for projects and day-to-day work.

What you’ll bring to the team: 

  • We love that you are a native French speaker.
  • You can write in French… like, really write – helping improve our English content through excellent translation practices.
  • You have solid knowledge of documentation and training design principles and can show us how you’ve used it.
  • Formal education in translation, or studies in communications or technical writing completed in French, as well as experience working as a translator, French editor or proofreader is a serious plus.
  • You’ve developed and carried out translation plans for projects of all sizes. Make sure you can tell us how.
  • You have an uncanny ability to bring content to life with simple language and you are able tailor content to specific audiences.
  • You understand metadata, content reuse, writing for the web and restructuring existing content.
  • You have experience working with various content authoring platforms, CMS and LMS.
  • You have deep knowledge of intranet development and multi-language content management.
  • You have ideas on how to measure the quality of translation and have experience managing external vendors.
  • You demonstrate a passion for francization and can help bring clear communication and excellent online user experience to our French-speaking audience.
  • You are people savvy, which allows you to help them see things through a different lens.
  • You’re flexible enough to change direction on a project halfway through.
