The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for general accounting for the company. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance this role will be part of a team that will be responsible for IT project accounting and overseeing franchise invoicing and support, remote payment, and other ad-hoc P&L lines. The role involves dealing with operations located across Canada and will be a key part of the team providing support to store managers and senior management for finance matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation, interpretation, and presentation of monthly P&L results
  • Own the preparation, maintenance and support of balance sheet accounts and related working papers.
  • Investigate discrepancies and explain variances from budget and forecast.
  • Prepare journal entries with essential backup for manager’s review and approval
  • Reconcile remote payments weekly
  • Work with stores on various inventory issues (serial change, transfer etc.)
  • Complete franchise invoice with required support
  • Responsible for IT Project Accounting
  • Governance of Project Capex Policy
  • Responsible for Intangible Fixed Assets - acquisition, depreciation, and continuity

Qualifications:

  • CPA Designated or working towards it
  • Knowledge of IFRS and comfortable with researching IFRS Accounting standards
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, custom sort and filter)
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred
  • Retail industry experience an asset
  • Post-Secondary education (college or university)
