Reporting to the Vice President, Real Estate and Construction, the Manager, Real Estate will be responsible for leading the Company’s new real estate agreements, lease renewal program, and other real estate operations.  The ideal candidate comes with a commercial retail real estate background with strong relationship building and negotiation skills. This is a hands-on role that appeals to a natural problem solver.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new real estate agreements/transactions from pipeline to opening, including: offer and lease negotiations, internal approvals, deposit requests, rent roll setup, and supporting documents for all transactions
  • Own and drive lease renewal program, with emphasis on identifying cost savings opportunities and strategies
  • Maintain strong relationships with landlords and other key stakeholders
  • Build and/or support creation and implementation of various corporate real estate strategies
  • Support Construction and Facilities teams, as needed, to consult on any agreements and interpret leases
  • Lead ad-hoc real estate programs, such as acquisitions or assignments
  • Ensure completion of all lease administration documentation and filing, and conduct audits to ensure accuracy
  • Track and report real estate transactions
  • Serve as internal Real Estate point of contact for general inquiries and cross functional support
  • Other real estate related duties as required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial real estate experience, preferably within a high-volume, national retailer or related environment
  • Strong relationship building and networking skills with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Superior negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to manage a large portfolio of transactions and locations
  • Strong critical thinking, with an ability to problem solve, interpret lease clauses, and recommend creative solutions
  • Experience in assessing market value and estimating fair rent rates based on data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of stakeholders including executive leadership, landlords, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of products. Previous experience with Lease Administration software (ex Cogna)
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines within a hybrid office/ home office environment
