IT Security Specialist

The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating security technologies/tools, automating security tasks, continuous monitoring activities (analyzing scan/vulnerability assessment findings, defining and testing remediation steps and tracking vulnerabilities through to remediation implementation), improving the client's production alerting/monitoring solution, performing security impact assessments on production system changes, and ensuring technical security controls are implemented that maintain compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and improve a security operations processes and practices
• Develop and manage procedural controls to ensure compliance with internal policies, external security standards/best practice and oversight entities. 
• Manage intake of incidents and reports through internal ticketing system in a timely accurate manner to resolve a multitude of information security related situations.
• Manage and monitor DLP, FWs and IPS solutions in place
• Maintain currency and competency as it relates to the cybersecurity, risk management, control and compliance domains
• Acquire, maintain, and expand industry and discipline-specific expertise for key focus areas including Information Security operations and compliance
• Conduct Real-time analysis on reported cyber events and/or incidents impacting business operations.
• The ability to identify and triage and coordinate remediation of security incidents such as Malware, Phishing and Web Attacks.
• Lead staff to proactively identify, prevent and respond to security incidents.
• Foster relationships with infrastructure, applications, and the business and third parties to ensure adequate monitoring compliance and smooth incident response process.
• Direct, oversee and support user management activities, and monitor the use of privileged user accounts
• Produce reports on compliance and control effectiveness
• Support and coordinate compliance activities including ITGCs, CEO/CFO certifications, and annual PCI DSS validation of compliance.

Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years performing security operations roles
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, related field or equivalent work experience
• Working towards or already have one of industry certification: GCIH, GCED, CISSP, CISA, CISM, PCI compliance related (QSA, ISA, PCIP)
• Previous management experience, with the ability to effectively manage teams, coach and mentor others is a plus.
• Proficient in preparation of reports, dashboards and documentation
• Proven ability in Information Security process and organizational design
• Current and in-depth knowledge and understanding of advance security concepts associated with cyber-attacks and techniques, threat modeling and vectors
• Team-oriented interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with a broad range of people and roles
