Reporting to the Director, Leadership & Employee Engagement, the Manager, Leadership Development owns professional development and learning for leaders across goeasy. This is a new role that has the exciting opportunity to shape the leadership development strategy and bring it to life in this high-performance organization with an award-winning Culture.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts needs analysis to determine gaps between current and desired state to develop strong leaders and high potential employees; actively manages the Succession Planning process with HR Business Partners
  • Builds, maintains, and continually advances the leadership development curriculum aligned to the company’s strategic objectives; inclusive of in-class learning programs, outsourced solutions, virtual-led programs, and performance support tools to build capabilities in leaders.
  • Manages vendor relationships with third-party leadership development suppliers while continually assessing and exploring new opportunities. Determines whether to build, buy, or curate content to meet the needs of the business.
  • Devises program evaluation processes and measurements to monitor the effectiveness of program offerings and return on investment, report on the findings.
  • Maintains active knowledge of best practices in leadership learning, talent management and instructional design and delivery related to improving the effectiveness of organizational leaders.
  • Utilizes creative thinking capabilities to design and develop client specific learning experiences using innovative training approaches.
  • Designs and delivers learning experiences that are effective and engaging to learners, applying adult learning principles, and follow-up reinforcement activities.
  • Conducts individual and group coaching; performs friendly “Interventions” to bolster team and department success
  • Provides ideas, support, and assists with creation of e-learning modules and on-line content.
  • Ensures learning materials are effective, current, and relevant.
  • Evaluates impact of learning solutions for quality, improvement of performance business impact, and scalability.
  • Facilitates development activities to organizational leaders utilizing solid awareness of adult learning principles and appropriate delivery modalities.

Qualifications

  • University degree from an accredited university with a focus in education, business, communications or related field; post-grad certification in Adult Education is desirable
  • 5-7 years of direct work experience developing training programs, products, and learning experiences, with emphasis on leadership development.
  • Experience creating, executing and managing leadership programs impacting a wide range of audiences (e.g., new leader programs through senior leadership development programs).
  • Experience as a facilitator of leadership training programs (face-to-face and virtual)
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing online, instructor-led, or blended learning programs related to leadership or management development.
  • Extensive knowledge of current leadership and professional development theories and practices
  • High degree of business acumen and strategic thinking and planning
  • Formal coaching education and experience an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions in a timely manner sometimes with incomplete information, under tight deadlines and in high pressure situations.
  • Enthusiasm, supportiveness, and a focus on developing others and self.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
