Senior, Financial Controls Analyst (6 month contract)

Internal Audit & Compliance plays a key role in providing independent and objective assurance over the design and effectiveness of internal controls to mitigate risks and to provide advisory services designed to improve organizational operations. The Financial Controls, Senior Analyst role is an exciting six-month contract opportunity in a high growth and fast-paced organization with award winning culture.  

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and working closely with the Internal Audit and Compliance team, this role is responsible for documenting the Bill 198 compliance program in anticipation of going live with a new ERP tool in the new year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive a financial reporting controls framework that ensures goeasy meets its obligations under Bill 198;
  • Assist in the design and operating effectiveness of key control processes for the quarterly sub-certification efforts;
  • Work collaboratively with Business, Finance and Internal Audit and Compliance departments to update existing internal control narratives to ensure they remain aligned with new ERP environment;
  • Assist external auditing firm as required in respect to Bill 198 and testing over new financial controls environment;
  • Follow-up on outstanding findings by Internal Audit and Compliance on documentation through to resolution;
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Internal Audit team members, other control and corporate functions, senior management and other stakeholders; and
  • Analysis and identification of risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICFR), Bill 198, COSO 2013 and a good knowledge of IIA Standards required;
  • Professional designation in accounting degree (CA, CPA) minimum 5 years of relevant experience (ideally obtained from a CA firm);
  • Amazing team player with the ability to work with diverse internal team members and external client groups;
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates exhibiting excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills that foster teamwork and innovation;
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts;
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects in a time sensitive manner;
  • Ability to follow up and resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner; and
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
