Goeasy is seeking a highly motivated Legal Account Manager to locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or personal visit to solicit payment. Duties include receiving payment from delinquent customer's account; making payment arrangements and loan settlements; Perform legal actions on customers that have no intention to pay; and status of accounts.

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Coach all branches in assigned region on collection techniques, legal process and procedures.
  • Plan and organize the workflow to ensure all cutoffs and deadlines are met
  • Collect amounts owed by investigating/resolving delinquent accounts resulting from client’s failure to comply;
  • Contact past due customers by phone/road call, negotiate appropriate payment arrangements, within authorized limits;
  • Receiving payment from delinquent customer's account; making payment arrangements and loan settlements; and keeping records of collection and status of accounts.
  • Use defined procedures to arrange and coordinate firm payment arrangements within established risk policy; Assess and mitigate risk by referring accounts for further action.
  • Apply compliance, regulatory standards and best practice on collections
  • Complete full process of the Superior Court of Justice, relevant legislation and legal terminology for acts impacting debt collection
  • Perform legal actions such as garnishments/enforcement/writ of delivery, liens and other recovery actions
  • Pull Credit reports and analyze (liabilities, DTI/TDS, legal cases, collections, financial reports)
  • Prepare and submit refinance loan application for customers
  • Process payments using multiple payment methods (Cash, POS payment system)
  • Perform all required reports and submitted to management (Activity trackers, operation plans, et.)
  • Document call activity in Collections system on internal systems (Sales force, WV) as requested by the management
  • Prepare all legal claims documents prior to submission
  • Prepare all type of legal documents required for enforcement, court hearing, trials et
  • Use the skip trace system provided by third party
  • Consistently hitting or exceeding monthly targets

 

What we are looking for:

  • 1-2 years of related experience in a similar role
  • 1-2 years Collections experience (mandatory)
  • Paralegal designation or legal background (Asset)
  • Post-Secondary Education preferred (College or University)
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Superior skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with people at various levels across the organization
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated ability for accuracy
