goeasy is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Senior Manager, Central Loan Approval Office to provide strategic leadership, lending their vision and guidance to build a centre of underwriting excellence within our Central Loan Approval Office (CLAO). You will achieve this by identifying and improving operating efficiencies in underwriting, workflow management and the customer/employee experience.

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading by example, develop and preserve an energetic, highly effective CLAO culture that inspires employee engagement, effective processes and subsequently surpasses even the most aggressive stakeholder expectations
  • Establish standards for service levels, queue management, and performance monitoring measures as it relates to underwriting, providing subordinates with prioritization, direction and support during periods with heightened demand
  • Oversee CLAO underwriting operations, including but not limited to staffing, scheduling, and planning to ensure company expectations are met
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve underwriting guidelines and processes
  • Generate and implement ongoing reporting to track efficiencies, staff activity and continuously improve on defined KPIs
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager, Performance and Quality Assurance and assist with training initiatives for Loan Underwriting Officers and Team Managers to enhance their personal and business acumen
  • Ensure all subordinates’ performance and service standards are met in the areas of quality, compliance and productivity, collaborating with the Team Manager, Performance and Quality Assurance
  • Collaborate with the retail branch network, regional managers, partner support and the indirect teams to craft solutions to meet customer and merchant needs, creating processes to capture, analyze, leverage and share branch insights to improve overall customer experience
  • Collaborate with the Director, underwriting regularly to enhance the Loan Underwriting Manual and other policies and procedures as they relate to the processing of loan applications
  • Drive appropriate change management practices required for any implementations to ensure agreement and understanding amongst personnel, including proactively enlightening employees on all changes and new information related to operational effectiveness
  • Maintain a high performing management team by effectively managing performance and ensuring continuous development of all team members

What we are looking for:

  • 5-7 years of experience working in a consumer finance environment with a significant amount of time spent in a people management capacity
  • Sound knowledge in underwriting policies and procedures and managing to Service Level Agreements
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and develop strategies, build action plans, and set goals
  • Experience with driving employee engagement and performance, including the ability to develop and motivate staff
  • Experience managing reports, analyzing results and implementing change based on findings
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • High level of computer literacy, Intermediate to Advance skill level in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
