goeasy is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to work in our Mississauga Support Centre (remotely for the time being). The successful candidate will be part of a talented team of engineers and be responsible for maintenance and support of core enterprise systems and infrastructure as well as for the management control, governance, and monitoring of our outsourced networking. The candidate should have good communication and collaboration skills, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills along with extensive knowledge of data laws, networking, and cloud architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, controlling, and monitoring of outsourced networking activities within the given project timeline in close collaboration with the internal project team and the service provider.
  • Research, design, plan and coordinate infrastructure upgrades, enhancements, improvements and/or newly required service deployments.
  • Monitors and analyze network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
  • Build out of PCI environment maintaining PCI standards with regular audits.
  • Work within a cross-functional team of Cloud Engineers, App Admins, DBAs, and DevOps teams to specify, design, develop, test, and implement cloud and network services and solutions.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge to team members, and promote efficiency, productivity, innovations, and knowledge-sharing across multi-functional teams.
  • Participate in operational and business critical projects through the scoping, planning, execution, and implementation.
  • Work with internal architecture, infrastructure, governance, and security teams to ensure that all security, governance and business continuity requirements and best practices are integrated and implemented.
  • Provision Dev, Test, Prod Infrastructure as code using Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM templates and/or Terraform.
  • Define and implement the configuration of Azure PAAS and IAAS services for high throughput and scale with capacity planning load balancing strategies.
  • Implement observability patterns using Azure Monitor, Azure Application Insights and Log Analytics Workspace.
  • Participate in project management activities of department projects including software upgrades, OS migrations, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Continuously improve the triage and escalation process for system availability.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for multiple environments; maintain inventory of equipment, servers, and services as well as documentation of configurations, standards, and vendor activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current technology trends and best practices; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Manage and coordinate support incidents with external vendors.
  • Participating in development of RFPs, contract negotiation and change requests, and work with peers in Cloud Engineers team to establish IT service level requirements and performance targets to achieve business objectives.
  • Assist in providing estimates of effort, material costs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination education and related experience.
  • Enterprise level network management including supporting and maintaining campus and DC equipment such as edge NGFW, Routers, WAN, LAN, VPN, Voice and Wi-Fi, core switches.
  • Hands-on experience with VMs, virtual networking, IP addressing and subnetting, Application Gateways, Load balancers, WAFs, Storage accounts, NSGs, Route Tables.  Experience with Azure ExpressRoute is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience to install, configure, test, and deploy enterprise and multi-cloud network infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing Information and Cyber Security in network infrastructure.
  • Experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM Templates and/or Terraform.
  • Cloud monitoring experience with Azure Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, Application Insights.
  • Experience with admin and support of Office 365 including Exchange Online and SharePoint Online is an asset.
  • Related security control and compliance experience in various frameworks including: PCI DSS, PCI PA-DSS, PCI PTS, GLBA, NYDFS, ISO, NIST, etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate solid analysis, strong problem-solving skills is required in this role.
  • Due to the nature of the role; strong collaboration skills, communication, detail orientation are all critical for success in the role.
  • Experience managing vendor-provided services including outsourcing arrangements.
  • Experience working within a structured process methodology (i.e. ITIL).
  • Strong systems aptitude demonstrated project management and planning skills, balanced strategic skills with tactical execution skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who is eager to grow within our organization.
