The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (Data) will be a key business partner to the senior management of goeasy.  The successful candidate will be instrumental in crafting the Company’s long term growth ambitions with responsibility for business unit decision support, budgeting and forecasting, strategic initiatives and management reporting.  The individual will report to the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  Strategic Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead business unit budgeting process and develop accurate, frequent and timely re-forecasts.
  • Compare actual results to budget, support the achievement of key priorities and present results to leadership team.
  • Develop and lead plans to implement recommendations based on analysis and deep knowledge of the business.
  • Understanding macro-economic trends and issues and business issues/opportunities that will impact our overall financial performance.
  • Monitor and report on economic, industry, consumer, and competitive developments.
  • Assist management in driving the organization to reach or exceed its financial goals.
  • Work proactively to improve operations, processes and policies to improve alignment with business plan.
  • Identify and document business improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Project Spend forecast of Strategic Initiatives to senior management, coordinating with SMEs and PMs to obtain necessary information to complete cost estimates
  • Assist in the budget planning and reporting process of Strategic Initiatives in collaboration with PDO team
  • Implements and maintain financial policies and controls and financial monitoring of Projects

    Enhance Management Reporting
  • Prepare in depth analysis of business results – translating the reported financial results to actionable information on the Company’s business units.
  • Assist with developing the appropriate set of performance metrics, dashboards and other tools to capture financial information, monitor performance and react accordingly.
  • Challenge business performance and the status quo.
  • Continuously enhance the management reporting package based on the evolving needs of the business and its leadership team.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial analysis focusing on the interpretation of results to provide better business insights.

    Deliver Crucial Analysis and Line of Business Support
  • Be viewed as a trusted advisor by the business leadership and senior executive and provide timely and valued decision support analysis.
  • Develop business cases and analysis on initiatives contemplated by the business units.
  • Based on an in-depth understanding of the business, proactively drive areas of investigation and analysis in line with the Company’s goals and objectives.
  • Develop, support and analyze business cases to highlight financial impacts to leadership and support various business initiatives.
  • Support ongoing business initiatives as they emerge.

    Support strategic projects
  • Support strategic projects such as acquisitions, divestitures, new business ventures and post-merger integration as they emerge.
  • Assist and collaborate in financial modeling, valuation and due diligence efforts related to potential acquisitions.
  • Support capital market activities such as debt and equity raising.

About You:

  • Minimum five years of relevant management and/or FP&A experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Professional designation (CPA, CFA, MBA).
  • Advanced Excel skills, financial modeling, sensitivity analysis (DCF) and ROI, IRR, and NPV analyses.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and a roll-up-the-sleeves work ethic.
  • Comfortable with rapid rates of change.
  • Knowledge of IT FP&A and IT accounting is preferable.
  • Knowledge of MicroStrategy, Power BI, Accounting Systems (ERP), and Bloomberg.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and provide meaningful insights and recommendations, based on analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Passion for driving results, with high level of integrity and dependability.
  • A team player who is keen to take ownership of tasks and support other team members, and someone who can effectively collaborate and work with other functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, high-volume of tasks, deadlines, and requirements.
  • Proven experience as a client focused business advisor with deep analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to build influential relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to translate data into information.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Solid IFRS knowledge.
