About the Role:

goeasy has experienced exponential growth over the past few years, and with an even bigger opportunity ahead of us, we are seeking a strategic and creative Marketing Leader that can grow and scale the business as we expand our lending products, channels of distribution and pursue geographic expansion.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing officer, the VP of Marketing will own our brand and creative strategy, promotional roadmap, in-store POS design and execution, mass media strategy and planning and everything in between to help bring our vision of providing everyday Canadians a path to a better tomorrow, today to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of passionate and innovative multi-function Marketers; retain and grow key talent while creating an environment of high accountability that motivates the team to achieve business goals and targets in a fun and productive culture.
  • Own the strategy and planning of our integrated marketing roadmap including, our always-on promotional strategy and our go-to-market strategies for all new product and campaign launches Nationally.
  • Evolve our brand architecture and brand narrative across our expanding suite of operating units with a focus on acquiring new customers and growth.
  • Lead all media strategy and planning with agency partners across traditional channels including TV, radio, OOH, and direct mail with a view to optimizing our media mix to generate the highest returns on our campaigns.
  • Drive retail marketing strategies to attract new customers across our National branch and store footprint of 400 locations including the development of all in-store and in branch merchandising.
  • Responsible for influencing/managing creative teams, across multiple channels and mediums to ensure innovation, challenging the status quo and on-time/on budget delivery of our creative work.
  • Manage all key agency partners across multiple brands including creative, media, analytics, and research with ownership of quarterly Integrated Agency Team meetings to drive enhanced process and creative execution across our partner landscape.
  • Acts as the brand champion internally to ensure our brand standards and value propositions are communicated, distributed, trained and lived by all functional groups and across our goeasy employees base of over 2300 across the country.
  • Accountable for key metrics including, new customer acquisition, brand awareness, positive brand perception, and team engagement and NPS scores.
  • Responsible for measurement and tracking of all marketing campaigns including working cross functionally with finance and the channel enablement teams to measure and track promotional campaign effectiveness to assess lift and ROI.
  • Stewardship of a $30M+ marketing budget including overall budget tracking, adherence to internal financial processes and working jointly with the broader Marketing Leadership Team to ensure spend is allocated across the most effective channels to drive the best return for the company.
  • Leads the Competitive Intelligence and Consumer Research functions to generate customer focused insights that are used to drive innovation and exceptional delivery of customer value.

  • Strong business and financial acumen with P&L experience and the ability to help drive meaningful customer LTV.
  • A proven track record of building, scaling and growing teams to support the evolving needs of the business.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • University or college degree in Business, Marketing, or Commerce preferred; completion of an MBA is an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in marketing, with demonstrated progressive accountabilities and a consistent track record of delivering results.
  • Experience in managing large consumer brands in financial services, fintech, digital banking, or digital lending preferred.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills. Proficient in French and English is an asset. 
  • Creative thinking and exceptional analytical skills coupled with a solid business foundation.
  • An innovative, positive, resilient and self-directed attitude with an ability and desire to “figure it out” and get it done.
  • Proven track record of success across development of strategies, execution plans and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple budgets, set KPIs to determine success factor and analyze resulting ROI.
