In this newly created position, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of learning for this high-growth area of the business. We're looking for someone who can effectively communicate their ideas, who is energetic and open to others' viewpoints. You should be smart, curious, and eager to learn new ways of doing things. Most importantly, we want someone who can help us grow by enabling our employees to perform their best and provide an outstanding experience for our partners and customers.

As an Instructional Designer, you'll support our new learning strategy, including new hire training, ongoing courses, and project-based learning. You'll also help us launch new learning initiatives, maintain best practices, and keep our stakeholders accountable.

What will you be doing?

  • Designing and developing learning solutions that align with business objectives and learner needs, utilizing sound instructional design principles and industry best practices.
  • Writing clear, concise, and accurate technical content for a variety of learning formats, including e-learning, webinars, videos, manuals, guides, and job aids.
  • Conducting thorough quality assurance checks and user testing to ensure the functionality and usability of learning products.
  • Applying feedback from stakeholders, subject matter experts, and business leaders, revising content as necessary to ensure timely delivery of learning solutions.
  • Performing background research and content analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Reviewing source materials and conducting interviews with subject matter experts to gather essential content for courseware design and development.
  • Mapping course objectives and assessment strategies from requirements, design documents, and training KPIs.
  • Creating blended learning solutions that incorporate classroom training, eLearning courses, and on-the-job activities, catering to business needs and learner preferences.
  • Authoring process manuals and procedural documents for diverse topics and audiences.
  • Staying updated on the latest trends and technologies in instructional design and technical writing through ongoing research.
  • Developing and maintaining effective program measurement strategies to evaluate the impact of learning initiatives.

What experience do you have?

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in communication, educational technology, adult learning, or a related field.
  • Bring at least three years of instructional design experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Possess technical writing skills, which are considered a valuable asset.
  • Proficienct with authoring tools and platforms, including Articulate Storyline.
  • Have experience with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.

This role requires on-site attendance at our LendCare office: 1315 Pickering Parkway, Pickering, ON
