The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role within our finance team, overseeing general accounting responsibilities for the company. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this position will be an essential part of a collaborative team engaged in managing the entire accounting cycle. With a focus on North American operations, the role holds significant importance in offering financial support to senior management.

What will you be doing?

  • Collaborating to ensure the timely completion of month-end financial closings.
  • Assisting in the preparation, interpretation, and presentation of monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) results.
  • Delving into discrepancies and elucidating variances from budget and forecast.
  • Taking ownership of the preparation, maintenance, and support of balance sheet accounts along with related working papers.
  • Formulating journal entries with comprehensive supporting documentation for managerial review and approval.
  • Contributing to the development of management reporting templates tailored for analysis purposes.
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis when needed.
  • Providing assistance for special projects and conducting ad-hoc analysis, as required.
  • Supporting the Corporate Controller in various projects.

What experience do you have?

  • Post-secondary business degree and/or working towards a CPA accounting designation with 2-5 years of FP&A and/or accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting concepts.
  • Highly data proficient with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Highly efficient, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to stay focused on tasks, particularly while battling with deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and interpret into both oral and narrative form. 
  • Good analytical, financial and systems skills are required.
  • Familiarity with Sage 300 is a plus.
  • Impeccable integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact at all levels of the organization.

We offer a Flexible Work Program that provides you the ability to work three days onsite per week, from our Mississauga office.
