Data Analyst

The Data Analyst will process different data types and sources and how they connect to each other to help understand business operations to deliver proactive insights to support goeasy. The Data Analyst has a passion for analytics, is curious to learn, and is quick to pick up new skills. They will work though databases with business information using query languages, tools and techniques then present results, findings and recommendations.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop deep data knowledge of goeasy business by combining data sets from different system, analyzing heterogeneous data sets to come up with interesting KPIs and inform the business as needed dive deep into key metrics based on requests.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret data sets based on information requests, the create ad-hoc queries and reports as needed along with providing on-going analytical support for these requests.
• Perform detailed data analysis, data validation, reports testing and identify data and reporting quality issues.
• Support BSAs in gather and analysing business requirements, then proposing designs for BI/Data solutions to satisfy requirements
• Data analysis to prepare presentations and detailed insightful reports
• Participate in development of datamarts, reports and data visualization solutions (dashboards) on the Business insights platform
• Communicate progress, milestones, challenges against plan, and escalation of issues. 

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year in-depth business reporting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or other related degree or equivalent work experience
• A minimum of 1 year of hands on experience with reporting and analytics
• Design and development experience with BI tools (such as MicroStrategy, SSRS, Tableau, QlikView) is an asset
• 1 year experience of reading and writing SQL to build, debug, and optimize
• Working with SQL Server or comparable relational database system is an asset
• Interest or experience developing reports using documents, grids, graphs, dashboards and working in Business Intelligence or Reporting Environments
• High level of technical aptitude
