We are seeking an analytical and highly motivated Legal Administrator who is determined to join and help our growing legal team at our office in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to learn and work in a legal setting while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:                                                                              

  • Review and manage branch and Legal Account Manager legal submissions and assign accordingly
  • Provide legal support and direction to the branches and collections department
  • Preparation of legal inventory and productivity reports
  • Provide administrative support to the Legal Account Management team
  • Responsible for photocopying, sorting, and scanning legal documents, files and other confidential materials
  • Handle various ad hoc administrative tasks as assigned by management
  • Other tasks as assigned (i.e. Social Committee duties, War Room Support)

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • 1-2 years in a similar role would be an asset
  • Collections or court clerk experience would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian provincial collection and litigation laws
  • Familiar with small claim court procedures
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and react quickly
  • Analytical skills, ability to identify problem areas and identify solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and ability to manage multiple applications across more than one screen.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent job experience
