The VP of Technology Infrastructure is a key leadership position, responsible for delivering best- in- class, customer- focused IT infrastructure services to goeasy. Reporting to the CIO, this individual is operationally focused on the availability, integrity and scalability of all IT systems and infrastructure. As a forward- thinking technology leader, this individual will evolve their teams to an agile and proactive service focused organization, providing a clear technology roadmap and delivery strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a plan to build a best-in-class IT Infrastructure Technology and Operations
  • Build, drive and execute the technology strategy and roadmap, with a focus on infrastructure, cloud engineering, technology operations and other aspects of technology services while ensuring its integration with the overall IT and business strategic plans
  • Lead the evaluation of existing processes and initiate change to a future state structure where required
  • Establish long term objectives, policies, and procedures and oversee implementation to ensure high availability of critical technology systems
  • Lead goeasy in the achievement of an effective and cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operation including a best-in- class help desk operation and systems & network availability
  • Collaborate with HR and IT leadership teams to develop a shared services people strategy that aligns with the business and IT strategy. Continually look for leading-edge and innovative solutions to the recruitment, development and retention of the technology workforce
  • Develop and control the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT infrastructure and people
  • Oversee management of the daily operations and staff of all IT business systems (both hardware and software)
  • Cultivate strong vendor partnerships to achieve optimal solutions and output
  • Work with the technology leadership team to elevate governance within the organization, with a focus on Incident and Change Management
  • Oversee facilities and hardware installation, operation, and maintenance of servers, networks (both LAN and WAN), routers, end user computing, peripherals, backup systems, all data communications between multiple sites, and all voice communications. This includes managing external IT providers/vendors

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information or related discipline (or equivalent)
  • 6-8+ years of progressive leadership and technology experience in financial services, retail or related industry
  • Expertise in cloud technology and infrastructure as a service
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing and managing IT delivery and execution in a complex, high- growth environment
  • Demonstrated expertise with ITIL process, SAS 70, ISO 27001, high availability systems
  • Expertise in building up Change Management and Incident Management practices

Other Skills & Requirements:

  • Sound understanding of data processing methods, computer software systems, business operations and network system build out
  • Well honed negotiation skills: ability to create buy- in to new concepts and ideas, ability to negotiate with internal and external key stakeholders
  • Proven track record of delivering “breakthrough” IT capability, thinking and results
  • Superior planning, prioritization and organizational skills, as well as budget preparation and monitoring skills
  • High degree of resilience and strong change leadership
  • Strong problem solving and ability to adapt approach in a fast- paced, ever- changing environment
  • Strong presentation skills: effective communication as both an executive business partner as well as a technology leader
  • An eye for emerging talent: Ability to hire and develop a diverse, high performing workforce
