We are looking for an experienced and passionate Director, Digital Performance Marketing to join our Digital Marketing team. We’re a growth-oriented organization that recognizes the value a seasoned digital marketer brings to the table, and we’ll provide the tools and resources needed to excel. As Director, you will be accountable for leading a team that is laser focused on growth and acquisition, overseeing all paid, organic, and direct digital marketing channels. The scope of this role requires an in-depth knowledge of paid search, paid social media, ad-serving technologies, DSPs, marketing automation platforms, email, SMS, and push notifications to name a few. You’re day-to-day is a mix of hands-on digital marketing execution and high-level strategic planning. You will oversee three teams – digital performance marketing (paid search, paid social, programmatic etc.), direct digital (email, SMS, push) and marketing data and analytics – each with their own senior manager and dedicated team. You will report directly to the VP of Digital Marketing and Growth and therefore will be a key member of the senior digital marketing team. Your focus is on optimizing the customer journey from their fist interaction through to conversion and retention, executing and measuring marketing channel effectiveness throughout. You will also manage several agency relationships that support the team in its growth mandate. 

What you will do:

  • Oversee all paid and direct digital marketing channels, leading a cross-functional team of subject matter experts (internal and agency) to deliver highly optimized digital marketing programs, all in an effort to achieve aggressive annual targets.
  • Deliver detailed and actionable insights, strategic recommendations, allowing leadership to clearly understand what tactics and strategies are driving performance throughout the funnel.
  • Manage and scrutinize the digital marketing budget to ensure that we are driving an efficient spend and maximizing every dollar. Work with the team on budget pacing and allocation across all channels, remaining flexible and pivoting to the best performing channels.  
  • Digital drives a majority of our new business, and therefore you will need to partner closely with our channel enablement and field teams to ensure we keep a healthy pipeline of qualified applicants flowing.
  • Manage a team of subject matter experts that spans paid performance, direct digital and data and analytics, honing there capabilities on driving acquisition and growth.
  • Active involvement in strategic planning on an annual, quarterly and monthly basis to ensure we’re consistently on the leading edge of digital growth marketing.
  • Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape, providing thought leadership and direction to continually improve knowledge and skills, communicate new ideas and trends, and ensure digital marketing programs are best-in-class and industry leading.
  • An expert understanding and application of our first-party data to drive growth, leveraging our segmentation and audience insights to ensure our messaging and channels are relevant and effective.
  • Oversee a handful of agency relationships that support our growth, ensuring accountability to results and bringing their expertise and scale to drive performance.
  • Be the face and the voice of the performance marketing team, presenting strategy and insights up to the executive level of the organization, ensuring our senior leadership has an informed view on how we’re supporting the business.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of progressive digital marketing experience with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital or other applicable areas of expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience in key digital marketing channels such as paid search, paid social, programmatic, email etc.
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional and measurable performance results through digital marketing efforts.
  • On the paid side, you possess a deep understanding of the Google Ads platform, Facebook Ads Manager and programmatic DSPs such as The Trade Desk.
  • On the direct digital side, you possess a deep understanding of Sales Force Marketing cloud or other marketing automation platform(s)
  • On the data and analytics side, you possess a deep understanding of GA360, GA4 or other marketing analytics tools and platforms.
  • Experience defining and implementing a robust MarTech strategy to ensure we have the right technology and digital performance ecosystem at our disposal.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into straightforward and actionable recommendations.
  • Experience defining and implementing a test and learn strategy, taking learnings and scaling up what drives performance and results.
  • Extremely collaborative and engaging, drawing on different teams and resources to get the job done all the while building consensus among multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership with a strong team-work orientation and the ability to work in a constantly changing and evolving organization.
  • Previous experience in financial services or retail digital marketing would be considered an asset.
