goeasy is looking for a Director, Project Delivery Office (PDO) who is an operational leader with deep experience progressively designing, building and scaling a centralized corporate portfolio and project delivery office. You will be responsible for driving the successful management and execution of initiatives, portfolios, programs and projects across goeasy. Reporting to the Vice President, IT Portfolio Management and Transformation, you will lead a team of seasoned Project Managers to oversee the development, management, reporting and the ultimate delivery of our portfolio and related PM functions to ensure the execution of initiatives that are critical to goeasy’s ambitious growth plans.
The Director will help evolve and align fit-for-purpose process designs and SDLC implementation methodologies (waterfall, lean/agile, hybrid) to meet stakeholder expectations, while mitigating risks across the many areas of the business. This role requires an individual who can handle large, complex programs, projects and support teams and drive decisions that hold team members at all levels of leadership accountable.

What will you be doing?
- Portfolio/Project Delivery, Management and Reporting
- Lead the PDO team in proactively driving the delivery of all projects meeting time, budget and scope expectations through robust project execution principles and methodologies.
- Expertly guide resources and capacity planning considering both traditional SDLC processes and emerging methods.
- Maintain regular, detailed status updates on progress, activities and issues on each initiative and present to Senior Leadership and major project stakeholders.
- Step in as a project manager if/when necessary.
- Process Management and Design
- Actively support the organization’s process for compiling, prioritizing, monitoring and reporting all projects for various audiences and forums.
- Contribute to the maturation of goeasy’s Project Delivery standards, methodologies, processes, documentation and governance.
- Collaborate with Finance to help manage planning, budgeting, reporting, forecasting of the portfolio including iterative and ongoing financial processes and reviews.
- Drive demand management by evaluating resource demands against the available capacity across the organization, vendors, and processes required to execute on prioritized activities.
- Relationship Management
- Partner closely across the company’s Business Owners and IT Leaders.
- Serve as a primary liaison between all team resources assigned to a project, IT and the Executive Team.
- Maintain regular communications to an established cadence with PMs and business stakeholders to ensure necessary steps are taken to resolve obstacles and ensure project objectives are met.
- Foster relationships with vendors on large organizational initiatives, ensuring that all contracts support the needs of the business, and that all suppliers meet their contractual service levels and deliverables.
- Leadership
- Inspire, mentor and develop a team of program and project managers leveraging best practices to plan, manage and successfully deliver key initiatives on time and on budget.
- Organize and lead regular core team and key governance forums (e.g. team stand-ups, Steering Committees) to review progress with key stakeholders.
- Provide portfolio leadership and vision around departmental objectives, driving balance to deliver while fostering growth in team members’ ability to manage complex initiatives.
What experience do you have?
- 10+ years of cross-functional experience managing delivery in a portfolio of projects of all sizes and levels of complexity – a strong preference for experience in delivering on Software and Technology deployments.
- Proven experience leading Program Management Processes that drive strategic execution with Senior Leadership.
- A university degree is required with a focus in engineering or a related discipline; a PMP Designation is definitely considered an asset.
- Experience managing a team of project managers who simultaneously work on multiple projects at a time with individual budgets > 1M.
- Ability to manage ambitious and driven Executive stakeholders and hold them to high expectations; the ability to influence without direct authority and “punch above your weight”.
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and financial acumen.
- The ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous.
- Sound business and technical acumen, with demonstrated agility in learning and ability to quickly become comfortable with unfamiliar businesses areas or of technologies.
- Strong leadership skills, and the ability to lead teams from varied backgrounds (business, technology, operations, etc.)
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary to effectively convey goals and initiatives to team members and top management. Extensive experience building and delivering presentations.
