Reporting to the Principal Broker, the successful candidate will be willing to be trained as a mortgage agent and registered with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (“FSCO”) to work with an experienced team in a call centre environment originating mortgage opportunities from the goeasy customer network!
A mortgage agent does the following:
- Work with various lenders to find the best deal for a homebuyer.
- Originate loans to sell to lending institutions.
- Act as an intermediary between a lender and a borrower who needs a mortgage loan.
- Evaluate pay stubs, credit history, tax information and bank statements for financial status.
- Work to ensure compliance with banking and or finance laws in the jurisdiction of the consumer.
- Verify the income of the borrower as well as gather their credit information.
- Follow through with lender and client during approval process.
- Explain the legal aspects of the loan to the borrower as well as the payment terms and clauses to them.
- Define repayment terms to consumer and educate them on default consequences.

What do you need?
- An outgoing personality, a charming phone manner and the ability to make every person feel special – which you are comfortable doing in a call centre environment.
- You can quickly feel for the person on the other end of the telephone line and sympathize with his or her problems while customizing solutions to the issues laid before you.
- Any experience you might have in financing, lending or managing credit would be a definite asset.
- You have to have a willingness to learn:
- first, the position requires that the candidate successfully complete a FSCO approved course of study that will permit the individual to be registered as a “Mortgage Agent” in the Province of Ontario – we pay for this; and
- secondly, we have a very high standard of practice – we expect our agents to keep current in all aspects of our industry so they may provide the best possible service
- Most importantly, honesty, integrity and the willingness to be accountable are the key virtues we look for in every hire. Being a good person is not a challenge for you!
Compensation for this position:
