As our Documentation & Learning Specialist, you have a strong background in technical writing that you use to create clear and concise online documentation and digital learning content for the goeasy frontline team—content that looks like a million bucks and helps people learn at the same time. You’ll help with new and evolving processes, standards, project assessment and elements of learning and content strategy. This includes keeping up to date on current trends in online document and e-learning design and management. You will be a key member of your team, collaborating with colleagues and continuously challenging your teammates to think outside the box and come up with creative ways to keep goeasy at the forefront of digital learning and documentation.

What will you be doing?

  • Use tools, technology, and modern learning and documentation methodologies to design, develop, write, and organize engaging content for our corporate intranet and digital learning platforms.
  • Work closely with your team and other partners to keep content fresh and up to date.
  • Research the newest, most innovative, and effective knowledge transfer methods—got an idea for a TikTok to support our objectives? Let’s hear it!
  • Show an insatiable curiosity about our audience by conducting field visits where possible and performing thorough needs analyses for each initiative.
  • Collaborate with head office support teams and other SMEs to ensure flawless execution of learning and documentation projects and programs.
  • Partner with Senior Managers in Knowledge Management and other stakeholders to shape learning and content strategy, build and deliver materials, and evaluate impact.
  • Push boundaries with your teammates, challenging each other to go beyond what’s been done before.
  • Master our learning delivery and intranet platforms to create the best possible experience, helping users access the information they need, when they need it.
  • Maintain and manage content governance processes to protect the integrity of the knowledge management experiences we’re building.
  • Lead each assigned initiative—whether user experience research or content development—delivering efficiently and effectively every time.

What experience do you have?

  • You can write… like, really write – breaking down complex ideas and unclear bodies of content into concise, easily absorbed pieces of information and learning.
  • You have solid knowledge of instructional and information design principles and can show us how you’ve used them
  • We love that you have at least 2 years of experience in the field of learning or technical writing and communications
  • A certificate in technical writing, adult education or equivalent is a strong asset
  • You know all about plain language, learning and information design, user experience, and micro-learning. Make sure you can show us.
  • Experience using a variety of content development software (e.g., Articulate, Adobe and Evolve)
  • Strong working knowledge of Content Management Systems
  • Experience designing and developing effective learning and documentation plans and schedules
  • You have an uncanny ability to bring content to life with simple language, clear instructions and effective visuals, and you are able to write in both explanatory and procedural styles tailored to specific audiences
  • Experience working with metadata, content reuse and restructuring existing documentation
  • You have measured the effectiveness of your own content at least once and have opinions on how this should be done. You can use those opinions to tell a story.
