We are seeking a Data Analyst reporting directly to the Director, Special Projects. You will be responsible for building the data analysis capabilities for the Loss Prevention department for both easyhome and easyfinancial.  The successful candidate will have extensive hands on experience analyzing data to identify trends of fraudulent activity.   

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Loss Prevention team to mitigate risk and detect/prevent fraudulent activities
  • Actively participate in identifying technical or procedural solutions to high risk issues
  • Involved in analyzing data to assist the Loss Prevention and Internal Audit teams in identifying exceptions, anomalies, as well as building and maintaing a continuous monitoring program.
  • Proactively identify issues or areas requiring additional analysis
  • Create and maintain Loss Prevention specific reports
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to assist in investigations
  • Create dashboards to track Loss Prevention metrics and store/branch performance
  • Handle ad-hoc projects and management requests as necessary

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a data analyst or forensic analyst role
  • Experience working in a banking or financial services company considered an asset
  • Superior technical skills utilizing SQL, SAS or ACL required
  • Advanced Excel skills including macros and visual basic
  • Ability to quickly understand operational and system processes and how it relates to the data
  • Strong time management and organization skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a time sensitive, fast-paced and often demanding environment
  • AML (anti money laundering) experience an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Professional with an ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information
