Goeasy is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to lead our Operations team supporting our retail businesses.   As Director of Operations your responsibilities will be to frame and solve business problems by designing efficient, customer centric, business processes for the implementation of new business initiatives or products and, in some cases, oversee the team members accountable for the execution of these processes once in production.  This role is crucial to the efficient operation and continuous evolution of our retail brands. This opportunity would suit an operations professional with a process engineering background that is seeking career growth and to contribute by making deep and lasting business impact.  The role carries exposure to many senior executives at goeasy and would be a great launch pad to senior leadership opportunities within the organization.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of central support staff that are providing essential services to our Retail frontline
  • To bring creativity and analytical rigour to developing solutions to operational, technology and strategic issues in a financial services and retail setting; coach others to do the same
  • Conducts process mapping, analysis, and redesign to drive operational improvements across the organization
  • Represents Operations Support on company strategic initiatives and is accountable for the department’s deliverables
  • Establishes, monitors, and maintains current and future operational policies and procedures, performance measures, metrics and production control processes.
  • Develops, co-ordinates, implements and validates Divisional and Regional activity relating to all leadsership engagement that occurs through the year in the Stores & Branches
  • Inspects, reviews, evaluates, and monitors operational processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Leads or contributes to process redesign for key operational initiatives
  • Understands business requirements through interviews and analysis and facilitates workshops with business unit leaders
  • Owns the continuous development and implementation of critical operating programs such as target setting, proactive goal setting for Incentive implementation, bonus, the annual sales playbook, etc.
  • Operates as the point person for current and future information needs for the Retail network. This would include data identification, the frequency of reporting where necessary and deciding when automation would best serve the business
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships with business unit management and staff

Qualifications, Attributes & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree required; attainment of a Master’s degree is considered an asset
  • 6 to 8 years of work experience in Central Operations for a multi-site, multi-channel sales organization is required; a strong preference for experience in Financial Services
  • Certification, in combination with work experience, in process engineering and/or quality management methodology (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) is required
  • Superlative proficiency with Microsoft Project and Office suite
  • Ability to think critically and apply rigour yet move with the pace of a high growth organization
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of retail and corporate management
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, as well as the ability to meet critical deadlines in a timely and effective manner
