The Vice President, IT Portfolio Management & Transformation, is a multi- faceted position, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the overall IT portfolio as a business. This role oversees the enterprise project management office, process engineering practice, Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing & IT Vendor Management.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for strategic and tactical management of IT investments and initiatives
  • Setting project management methodology and standards across the enterprise
  • Providing oversight to the enterprise project management office and ensuring alignment to corporate strategy and objectives
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure projects deliver desired outcomes, interdependencies are recognized and managed, bridge organizational gaps and elimination of redundancies, risk identification and management, ensuring decisions on projects are aligned to the organizational direction
  • Working in conjunction with finance, participate in the development and management of the IT capital budget, monitoring expenses, optimizing resource allocation, and providing financial oversight
  • Chair Business Transformation Council and Portfolio Delivery Council
  • Establish policies and governance practices related to operational and capital IT expenses
  • Oversee cross functional communication around the business transformation agenda and portfolio initiatives to provide a central engine for the project/ program delivery and portfolio initiatives, future M&A integrations, and program and change management expertise
  • Accountable for centralized sourcing, selection, and management of IT vendors
  • Standardize vendor performance metrics while regularly identifying opportunities for optimizing vendor performance and costs
  • Drive the process engineering function with a focus on optimizing and automating highly manual and repetitive processes to maximize efficiency of resources
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the QA strategy, overseeing the QA function and integration of QA as part of the overall delivery cycle
  • Oversee end to end testing of applications including user acceptance testing (UAT)

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience in key transformational project management with significant experience leading cross functional teams, projects, initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, prioritization, execution and governance
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing large budgets
  • Integration experience within M&A transactions is a strong asset
  • Relevant post secondary education in business, computer science, engineering or related discipline. MBA or relevant professional designation is preferred
  • Superior relationship building skills at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Knowledge of QA and UAT to provide leadership and oversite at a strategic level
  • Previous experience working with offshore teams and vendor partners
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem- solving abilities
