What you’ll be doing

The Director, Inside Sales is the primary leader responsible for steering the organization’s central sales function, overseeing the Inside Sales team, between both the Pickering and Montreal offices. With exemplary leadership to a team of over twenty-five sales representatives (and growing!), the successful candidate will ensure the group is engaged and performs at a consistently high level, meeting customer needs and organizational goals of profitability. The Director of Inside Sales aligns sales objectives with the broader business strategy, contributing significantly to the company’s overall growth and success.

Sales Strategy & Leadership

  • Drive and enhance ancillary product sales growth through the implementation of effective sales plans
  • Align the group’s sales objectives with the organization’s overarching strategy through active participation in corporate planning processes, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning and budgeting
  • Drive achievement of assigned targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives using a data driven and strategic approach

Talent Management & Development

  • Collaborate with HR and Talent Acquisition to identify and address any talent gaps, ensuring optimal health and effectiveness of the sales force at all times
  • Hire, train, engage, develop and retain high performing sales professionals utilizing goeasy’s numerous employee programs and investment opportunities
  • Lead learning and development initiatives impacting sales teams, taking stewardship of sales representatives and sales management talent for continuous growth and improvement
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a robust performance management system for the sales organization, defining foundational principles, identifying key performance metrics, ensuring equitable distribution of objectives holding sales representatives and leadership accountable for results
  • Regularly audit and review all sales activity data to identify performance, knowledge, training or compliance gaps. Develop performance plans to address any gaps and leverage opportunities

Sales Management & Reporting

  • Provide effective leadership to the sales management team, fostering a positive culture of accountability, professional development and overall high performance
  • Provide regular and comprehensive reporting to executive leadership on sales performance, key metrics and effectiveness of sales strategies, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement plans
  • Lead change initiatives within the sales organization, continuously assessing the need for organizational change, championing change initiatives and removing obstacles to allow teams to maximize opportunities for growth
  • Implement and optimize sales technology tools and platforms to enhance efficiencies in the sales process, data accuracy and overall effectives of the sales organization

Stakeholder Relations and Market Analysis

  • Establish and maintain productive peer- to peer relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring positive and collaborative interactions that contribute to the overall business success
  • Act as senior key point of contact with all vendors, researching and proposing new products, negotiating new and existing contracts, launching products and monitoring product performance
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities and customer behaviour to identify new business opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly

What you bring

  • 8-10+ years of progressive B2C sales experience combined with 3- 5 years of recent sales leadership, leading an organization of “frontline” sales representatives, and experienced Team Leads and Managers
  • Experience hiring, coaching, developing and retaining sales talent
  • Results driven, with demonstrated ability to lead and drive a strategic sales function, with strong planning, forecasting and reporting capabilities
  • Strong coaching and people development skills with a developed, hands-on approach to performance management
  • Strong negotiation skills with high influencing capability
  • Decisiveness: ability to make sound, fact and evidence-based strategic decisions, putting the company first
  • Sound change leadership capabilities with superior communications skills at all levels of the organization
  • Well-honed relationship building skills, with both internal and external stakeholders up to and including C- Suite level executives
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including the identification of root causes and providing solutions

Please note:  On-site attendance is required at our Lendcare office: 1315 Pickering Parkway, Pickering, Ontario with ability to travel to the Montreal office monthly. Additional cross – Canada travel required from time to time.

We offer a competitive base salary plus bonus incentives and a full suite of total rewards.

  • Must be in current role for a minimum of 9 consecutive months
  • Must be in good performance standing and not under any corrective action within the past 12 months
  • Should not have failed any applicable audits within the past 12 months (if applicable)
  • Must have an up-to-date IGP (Individual Growth Plan)
