We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Director, Business Initiatives at our LendCare subsidiary! In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, planning, and executing strategic initiatives that drive growth and optimize operations within our company. You will work cross-functionally to implement new business opportunities, streamline processes, and ensure our strategic goals are met. We seek a proactive leader with a strong understanding of the financial services industry and experience in managing complex projects from concept through completion. What will you be doing?

  • Strategic Initiatives Development: Lead the identification and development of new business opportunities that align with the company’s growth objectives. This includes launching new products, entering new markets, and enhancing existing business lines. Define strategic processes and workflows, including the annual strategic priority-setting process.
  • Project Management: Manage the execution of strategic projects, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Coordinate resources, manage stakeholder expectations, and troubleshoot challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives. Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and drive alignment across the organization. Provide support, advice, and consultancy to multiple teams while collaborating within a matrix setting.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve business processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs. Lead process redesign and automation efforts to streamline operations and improve customer experience. Ensure all project processes are completed.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business initiatives. Regularly track, analyze, and report on progress to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders involved in business initiatives. Ensure clear communication of project goals, progress, and outcomes to all relevant parties.
  • Strategic Initiatives Oversight: Support functional leaders in accessing funding, structuring initiatives, and ensuring all initiatives have clear milestones planned.
  • Business Operating Reviews: Establish a cadence of operating reviews that enables deep dives into business performance, tracking observations and takeaways, and ensuring follow-ups and carry forwards are tracked in subsequent review sessions.
  • Financial Management: Manage and validate financial forecasts and conduct ongoing reconciliation. Analyze complex business and operational challenges and develop solutions that optimize efficiency, experience, and effectiveness, while ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements.

What experience do you have?

  • Minimum of 7 years in strategic planning, business development, or project management within the financial services or lending industry.
  • 5-10 years in strategy or operations, with a proven track record of driving successful business outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and lead teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency with project management and business analysis tools.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Confident relationship builder with the ability to influence.
  • Highly motivated to continuously learn new concepts and build subject matter expertise.
  • Capable of managing complex problems and providing fact-based recommendations.
  • Comfortable operating in a complex, matrixed organization.

This role requires on-site attendance at our LendCare office: 1315 Pickering Parkway, Pickering, ON
