Role Overview:
The Senior Vice-President of Investor Relations, Capital Markets & Treasury is a multidimensional senior leadership role reporting to the CFO with responsibilities spanning across business functions. The primary responsibility of this position is to spearhead and lead the overall strategy for the company's investor relations efforts, manage relationships with investors, and oversee the capital markets and treasury functions. This executive role ensures the company's financial strategies are aligned with investor expectations while maintaining a strong focus on funding, liquidity management, and capital structure.
Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Investor Relations & Communication: Lead the development and execution of the company's investor relations strategy. Manage investor communications, including quarterly earnings reports, press releases, investor presentations, and shareholder updates. Ensure clear, consistent, and transparent messaging to current and prospective investors.
- Capital Markets Management: Oversee the company’s capital markets activities, including raising capital, managing debt and equity transactions, and ensuring the company's financial structure supports its business needs. Work closely with the CFO on funding strategies, including potential debt issuances and equity offerings, to ensure liquidity and financial flexibility.
- Treasury Function: Own the company’s treasury operations, including cash management, liquidity, capital allocation, and risk management. Ensure the company’s financial resources are optimized to support its operations and strategic growth.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Collaborate with the finance team to prepare quarterly earnings materials and investor-facing content. Analyze financial performance and ensure that investor reports clearly and concisely reflect the company’s strategy and progress.
- Capital Budgeting & Allocation: Oversee the capital budgeting process to ensure the appropriate allocation of financial resources to support high-priority projects and operational needs. Ensure alignment with business objectives and maintain flexibility in funding to respond to evolving needs.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Monitor capital markets and industry trends to identify new funding opportunities, gauge investor sentiment, and stay ahead of market dynamics. Provide insights on competitor activities and broader market conditions that could impact the company’s financial strategy.
- Board & Executive Communication: Prepare materials for the Board of Directors and executive leadership, offering clear financial updates and insights into capital markets activities, investor feedback, and treasury matters.
- Opportunity Seeking & Presentation: Actively seek out potential deal opportunities and present them to the executive team for consideration, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of experience in investor relations or capital markets, ideally within a publicly traded company or financial institution. 4+ years of experience at a senior leadership level (ie. Managing Director, VP+)
- Deep experience in managing treasury functions and capital markets transactions, including debt/equity issuance and managing cash flow and liquidity.
- Strong background in financial reporting, investor communications, and business case development.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, or a related field; MBA, CA, CFA, or CPA qualifications are desirable.
- Proven track record of managing investor relations and executing capital markets transactions to raise capital and manage financial structure.

- Collaborative: Works well with cross-functional teams, particularly with finance, legal, and executive leadership.
- Proactive: Able to manage multiple priorities and stay ahead of market developments to support the company’s funding and investor relations objectives.
- Results-Driven: Focused on delivering actionable insights and measurable outcomes in investor relations and capital markets activities.
