Senior Systems Analyst (Digital Systems)

We are seeking a Senior Digital Systems Analyst reporting to the Manager, IT Applications. The primary responsibilities for this position includes both development and systems analysis for goeasy applications to implement business change requests. You will play a lead role as part of the larger IT Applications group and help implement scalable solutions. You will ensure that all system changes meet business, quality and architectural guidelines. Successful candidate will have exceptional analytical skills and will be expected to have hands-on programming skills in building enterprise applications.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, coding, and testing java based applications for the web in an enterprise environment and mobile devices such as phones and tablets.
• Work with the Solution Architects to transform and develop requirements into system design and implementation.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal teams to achieve assigned tasks.
• Completing any other assigned development & system analysis tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
• Work with onshore and offshore development teams for project implementations.
• Ensure compliance to design and corporate development standards.
• Mentor junior onshore and offshore developers on technical issues and deliverables.
• Review test protocols to support QA and UAT.
• Identify creative and scalable technology solutions for issues encountered by the development teams.
• Participate and contribute to multiple cross functional meetings with technical and business stakeholders.
• Assist application roadmap development and help implement technology best practices.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for business applications including on-call responsibilities after hours.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
• Minimum of 1 year of IT work experience as a developer on enterprise scale projects.
• Practical hands on experience and solid understanding of web and enterprise technologies that include Java, J2EE (Servlets/JSP), MVC architecture, Tomcat, Spring, Hibernate, etc is required
• Experience with API integration using SOAP/RESTful/JSON is required
• Experience in designing databases and writing SQL queries is required
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, Ajax will be an asset
• Knowledge of at least one front end framework like Angular, Backbone, React, Vu is an asset
• Experience building hybrid and Native Mobile applications (iOS, Android, and PhoneGap) is an asset
• Experience with Python is an asset
• Possess a solid understanding of how enterprise web based systems are constructed
• Experience working on e-commerce or other transactional sites
• Strong understanding of object oriented programming and software engineering fundamentals
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
