Senior Systems Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Systems Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Application Services. You will play a lead technical & systems analysis role as part of the larger IT Applications group and help implement scalable solutions. You will ensure that all system changes meet business, quality and architectural guidelines. Successful candidate will have experience in Financial Industry, Lending Platforms, or Banking. Other qualifications include extensive hands on database query knowledge (SQL / PLSQL) or programming experience coupled with exceptional analytical skills.

This role is responsible for researching problems, planning solutions, recommending system changes/upgrades, and coordinating development to meet business objectives. The Senior Systems Analyst will also serve as the liaison between our vendors and IT for all assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for creating low level solution design from high level architecture concepts
• Guide and lead the development team with systems design and solution strategy to meet business requirements
• Participate in projects to design and build systems and solutions to meet the project objective and requirements while adhering to best practices
• Identify issues and risks throughout the project life cycle and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Work with onshore & offshore development teams for project implementations.
• Ensure compliance to design and corporate development standards.
• Work with a team of programmers / developers across multiple teams on technical issues.
• Review test plans and test cases to support QA & User Acceptance testing.
• Identify creative & scalable technology solutions for issues encountered by the development teams.
• Participate & contribute to multiple cross functional meetings with technical and business stakeholders.
• Assist application roadmap development and help implement technology best practices.
• Provide Level 2 / Level 3 technical support for business applications including after hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Systems Analyst in a related industry
• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst in the Financial industry
• Familiar with payment solutions, GL, credit card systems, Cloud and Integration technologies a big asset
• Proficiency in SQL / PLSQL or related programming language is a must.
• Experience of working in onshore / offshore development environments is preferred
• Experience in developing & designing software components is required
• Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture is preferred
• Prior experience in working with Salesforce is an asset
• Solid technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business
• Ability to understand the business needs and convert into clear and detailed requirements and specifications
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and developing business presentations and power user training materials
• Ability to solve problems spanning multiple environments in a business area
