Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the Executive Team, the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for leading and evolving the Financial Planning & Analysis function for the Company. As a trusted business partner with senior leaders and across functions, they will determine how to support the rapid growth of the business. This role has accountability for managing financial planning, budgeting, consistent reforecasting, strategic planning, management reporting, preparing fact-based analytics, supporting corporate development initiatives, and developing value-add insights and analysis to drive and influence business decisions.
Responsibilities include (not limited to):
- Developing a scalable FP&A infrastructure that will be able to support the evolution/ growth of the business – acquisitions (domestic and international), business units & segments, product verticals, project tracking/evaluation, corporate cost allocation & transfer pricing, etc.
- Enhancement of Management Reporting capability by growing the function’s competencies in business unit, product-level, and Board packages and insights.
- Direct oversight of the Financial Planning & Analysis function in the preparation of Budgets, Forecasts, Investment Analysis, Business Unit & Cost Centre Segment Analysis, Project Planning, Key Performance Indicators, and other related analysis.
- Support and partnership to the Treasury function’s management Capital and Debt Management, Funding Facilities, Transactional Banking, Securitization vehicle, Financial Instruments, and optimizing cost of credit.
- Support of the Corporate Development function including M&A activity, New Business Venture & Deal analysis, Research, Investor Relations, Equity Research, Rating Agency enquiries, and Strategic Planning.
- Manage, coach, and develop a group of corporate finance professionals. Promote a culture of high engagement, high performance, and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
- Identify opportunities to challenge team members and grow their skillsets.
- Be viewed as a trusted advisor by the business unit leadership and senior executive and provide timely and valued support.
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.
- Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth.
Who you are:
- 10 + years of relevant corporate finance experience with at least 3-5 years in a senior management role.
- Have successfully held a similar role as the Vice President with another high-growth organization. Preference for someone with experience having worked in the consumer-finance/lending space or broader financial services.
- Previous experience working in a dynamic environment with the aptitude to support and integrate key processes with other areas of finance (Controllership, Treasury, Corporate Development, etc.).
- Have worked with a rapidly growing organization achieved organically and through M&A.
- Hands-on experience having analyzed and supported M&A activity.
- Strong people management and coaching skills. An “eye for talent” and a desire to build and retain a high-performing team.
- Highly analytical and thorough – delving into details of the business, ensuring that financial insights are effectively communicated to business partners to drive improved business results.
- A strong and organized leader that can effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial audiences in a succinct, clear and concise manner.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines and company goals.
- Ability to multitask and deal with people and situations in a professional manner. Able to manage competing priorities, meet deliverables while building relationships with colleagues.
- University Degree (Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline).
- An MBA or CPA designation would be desirable.
