The Bilingual Branch Auditor and Investigator is an independent, objective person who conducts risk-based audits and investigations to validate that operational policies and procedures are adhered to and loss due to internal and external theft or fraud is mitigated. This person will also utilizes tools and resources available to initiate, coordinate and conduct required audits along with investigations. This role will also regularly liaise with field employees including Regional Managers, Branch and/or Store Managers and Divisional Vice Presidents.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Audits
    • Assist the Senior Manager, Branch Audit in the completion of the Audit Plan for retail locations
    • Execute retail audits as well as assist in a variety of operational audits including CLAO, Collections and Mortgage Services within established timeframes
    • Prepare clear, concise and timely audit reports using a risk-based approach which identify areas of processes and controls that require improvement
  • Investigations
    • Conduct investigations involving employees as it relates to fraud, theft or other activities that result in loss or post significant risk to the Company
    • Assist as required in fraud investigations involving external parties
    • Document investigations and provide a summary based on factual evidence as well as all detailed findings
    • Collaborate with law enforcement regarding illegal or fraudulent activity as required

  • Special Projects
    • Assist with other areas of Internal Audit department as required
    • Analyze and identify risks and opportunities
    • Utilize data to analyze the effectiveness of various operational policies and procedures and provide an audit document that includes an evaluation on the effectiveness of controls, identified deficiencies and recommendations for improvement

  • Operational Policies & Procedures
    • Work with the Senior Manager, Branch Audit to identify policies and procedure updates to ensure they remain aligned with business changes and appropriately address risks

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal skills, in French and English (both are requirements)
  • Solid Knowledge in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated; must be able to multi-task and work in fast paced environment work with little supervision
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Can manage projects with little supervisor while maintaining all deadlines
  • Demonstrated teamwork and flexibility
  • Experience in the retail environment is an asset
